Many people
ask Aunt Mary how she
got started in the cookie business.
Her answer is easy. "My brother made me do it!"
At
her brothers request, Mary baked a batch of her Italian cookies
for a model kitchen display at the Fall Home Show in Oswego.
The idea was to entice people to linger at his display.
As Aunt Mary tells it, "people just kept coming back
for more cookies." The following Monday the phone
started ringing with orders.
The
next spring a commercial kitchen was added on to Mary's home
and Aunt Mary's Italian Cookies & Catering was born.
Mary
says it best when people ask what is so special about her
service:
"Our food is all
homestyle with authentic Italian recipes. As much
as possible is made from scratch. Cookies are each
hand rolled and hand glazed. They are never mass-produced.
Recipes are compiled from both sides of the family -- grandparents,
aunts and other relatives. We are known throughout
the county for our Italian cookies and award-winning lasagna
made with homemade noodles."
Call
Aunt Mary next time your planning an event... and while your
at it, order a batch of her Italian Cookies for yourself!
